We’d like to clarify that while Blackmount Community Council (BMCC) has discussed the upcoming Dolphinton firework display, BMCC is not responsible for organizing this event. The display is coordinated by the Blackmount Social Group, and BMCC’s role is solely to provide recommendations based on community feedback.
After reviewing the results of a recent survey, which showed a strong preference for traditional fireworks, BMCC recommended proceeding with the original format for this year. We recognize that this display is a valued tradition that many in the community enjoy, bringing people together to celebrate.
However, we also understand and respect concerns about noise impacts on local animals and livestock. As such, BMCC has recommended that the Social Group explore quieter alternatives, such as silent fireworks, in the future. We appreciate everyone’s input and will continue to support thoughtful discussions around how best to balance tradition with community well-being.
