Renewable Energy Fund – Micro Grant
The microgrants issued by community councils from the South Lanarkshire Renewable Energy Fund are intended to support small-scale, community-led projects that improve local facilities, enhance community life, or benefit the wider public in a tangible way. Administered at the grassroots level, these funds give community councils the flexibility to award modest amounts of money for initiatives such as buying equipment for local groups, improving communal spaces, funding small cultural or educational events, or supporting minor environmental enhancements. By providing accessible and responsive funding, these microgrants ensure that the benefits of renewable energy investment directly contribute to the well-being, cohesion, and resilience of local communities.
